“A Diverse world. . . a place for you at the table!”
May 19, 2008
Dear Colleagues:
It is with great excitement and pleasure that I introduce the Office of Multicultural Relations and the L.I.V.E Symposium at Princeton Theological Seminary. In July 2007, the Seminary initiated the Office of Multicultural Relations as another approach toward implementing the mission “to embrace a rich and ethnic diversity,” and “equip students for leadership worldwide in congregations and the larger church.” The development of this office grew from the Seminary community recognizing the need for dialogue and engaging activities toward diversity and inclusion at all levels of the institution.
In addition, the Office of Multicultural Relations is facilitating the “L.I.V.E. Symposium” (Learning, Inclusion, Vitality, Exploration), a special program designed to inform, and motivate domestic racially ethnic students for graduate theological education. This is one of several vocational exploration opportunities offered by the Seminary as an opportunity for persons who are exploring their interests in pursuing an M.Div., M.A., or the dual Master’s degree. Come experience theological exploration and discernment by discovering opportunities for practical ministry, spiritual formation and cross-cultural dialogue. Get to know us at the following vocational exploration dates:
September 24-27, 2008
October 15-18, 2008
October 26 – 28, 2008 [The L.I.V.E. Symposium]
November 12-15, 2008
January 14-17, 2009
February 18-21, 2009
I am sharing this information with you in hopes that you will disseminate this information with your colleagues, congregation, and individuals you may have identified as talented candidates for rigorous theological education in preparation for service to Christ and the Church. Please feel free to contact the Rev. Carolyn Helsel, Associate Director of Admissions for more information on the Princeton Seminars.
Registration is currently underway for all these events and guests may register on-line by visiting our website at www.ptsem.edu, click on “Admissions” and follow the links accordingly. You are also welcome to visit the Multicultural Relations web page https://our.ptsem.edu/ics/Campus_Life/Multicultural_Relations/ where you can learn more about our programs, initiatives, and upcoming events including the L.I.V.E.
