1.    Christmas Boutique on Sat Dec 8, 10-2, all proceeds to help women/kids in Sierra Leone!

This ministry called Children in Crisis is conducted by Ginny Frohmberg of Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley.  It is well worth our support if you have the chance to drop by on Dec 8.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I’d like to invite you to a Christmas Boutique at my home on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 am to 2 pm.  All the items for sale are handmade in Sierra Leone.  If you’re looking for something you won’t find in a department store, consider the following:
*  Tablecloths in a variety of colors with 4 napkins
*  Comfortable lined pants with pockets and elastic waist in a range of sizes
*  Various purses and coin purses made with colorful African fabrics
*  Backpacks with padded shoulder straps
*  Book covers in various sizes
*  Necklaces with double heart, turtle and stone pendants
*  Bracelets of various types and sizes

My address is:   563 McKinley Court in San Leandro
It’s just off Bancroft, down the street from San Leandro High School.

This Boutique is a fund-raiser for PACES (Paragon Agricultural Community and Education Services), an indiginous nonprofit organization in Sierra Leone that initiates projects to provide self-sufficiency skills to citizens of one of the poorest countries on earth.   The sewn goods were made by children in a juvenile detention facility who took a Sewing Class sponsored by PACES and funded by the Children in Crisis Concern Group.   Your purchase of these goods will provide income to young men (ages 17 and under), presumably former child soldiers, whose only skill prior to the class was knowing how to kill.   The jewelry was made by Sierra Leonean women.    All funds raised (after paying California sales tax of course!) will be wired to PACES to continue their effective work with children in crisis in Sierra Leone.

I hope you can make it!
